Automatic Cartridge Gauging Machine

The Automatic Cartridge Gauging Machine is designed to perform certain quality checks on cartridges. The system is fed by simply dumping the cartridges in the bunker. The elevator conveyor takes the cartridges into a hopper automatically. In the hopper cartridges are held down into the machine to be lined up and initiated with a linear motion for inspection. This linear motion registers in the PLC and all the signals created including the count figures and sorted quantities are monitored in the HMI screens. Operators can set up inspection parameters through the HMI screen. The machine has four stations and each station is followed by a dedicated sorting unit.

Functions and Advantages

Primer Depth Check. A physical probe checks the primer depth of the cartridge. The cartridges that are out of the set parameter will be sorted at this station into a dedicated exit.

Cartridge Length Check. Cartridge length is checked with a physical probe. The cartridges that are out of set parameters will be sorted at this station into a dedicated exit.

Cartridge Full Form/Loadability Check. The cartridge exterior form is checked by a gauge. The cartridges that are out of set parameters will be sorted into a dedicated exit.

Cartridge Weight Check. The system is followed by a weighing station. The weighing station will be a dynamic weight check and the cartridges will be scaled when in motion. The cartridges that are out of set parameters will be sorted at a dedicated exit.

Human Interface and Safety

  • The machine is designed for a minimum level of physical human interaction with the machine.
  • The system is fed at the bunker. The hopper will be followed digitally and will indicate the low level at the HMI screen.
  • The doors of the machine are safely locked and the machine does not operate unless the doors are properly closed.
  • The system refuses to run when the air supply pressure is insufficient.
  • The system shuts down in case of a jam.
  • The faults and their location and all the alarms are listed on the HMI screen.
  • All stations and their components are displayed on the HMI screen.
  • The real-time production count and the sorted/ejected quantity for each station are displayed at the HMI screen.

Conversion Tool Kits

Any group of small arms calibers can be created to be assembled in this system including NATO calibers, SOVIET calibers, and blanks.

It takes roughly one shift to convert the system into the next caliber.

All the tools are produced by Yeter Makina. Therefore, we assure the supply of original replacement parts as long as the machine is in use.
